Swiss Giant Zermatt Leek is a European favorite. It can be harvested and used at the baby stage or when fully mature. Try it fresh and in stocks or creamy soups. Versatile and early, leeks have a sweeter, more delicate flavor than onions. Sow outdoors March to early April. Plant seeds 1/2 in. D, in rows 12 in. apart. Keep well-watered. For earlier crops, sow indoors January to April in pots of seed compost. Thin seedlings as necessary. Matures in 75-days.
