Candy Stevia is 30 times sweeter than sugar and very low in calories. Use it in baking or as a coffee and tea sweetener. Simply harvest fresh leaves from the plant, then cut up and steep in warm water. Leave overnight, and in the morning, strain and refrigerate for up to a month. Use as a liquid, or dry it and powder it for future use. Grown as a houseplant in colder areas, its leaves are the sweetest in the cool temps of fall before flowering occurs. It’s tolerant of a wide variety of well-drained soils as long as it has full sunlight.
